People ask us all the time "Which tire should I use?
There's usually not one "right" answer, it depends on all of the
variables involved such as the intended use, the pace and
preferences of the rider, the budget, etc. We have provided a
general guideline for recommendations below, but these are not set
in stone, they're simply our general guidelines for a starting point
in tire recommendations. Please don't hesitate to contact us
to discuss your personal riding needs to receive a more precise
recommendation, we'd love to help you find the right tire!
Other than proper suspension setup, there's no more important aspect
to going fast and being safe on the track than having a good set of
tires!

BT-016 Hypersport Tire

Application: Street or Track |
This is an advanced, multi-compound tire
designed for sporty street and track day applications. The
harder center compound on the rear tire gives great life for
higher mileage street applications, while the softer shoulder
and side compounds provide great grip for cornering on street or
track. We would say this tire is appropriate for track day
use for a novice or intermediate track day rider who plans to
put a moderate to high number of miles on their bike on the
street as well. |

This is the latest "track day" tire from
Bridgestone, with a multi-compound construction for sport riding
on street or track days. The center compound on this tire
is not as hard as the BT-016 and high mileage street riders will
not get as many miles out of this tire as the BT-016. For
a dedicated track day rider up to a fast intermediate pace, or a
street rider who does low to moderate mileage on the street and
also does track days, this tire is a great choice. No need
for tire warmers with these for the track, they offer quick
warm-up and good grip when cold, just take it easy for a lap or
two. |
BT-003 Pro DOT Race

This is the "Classic" DOT race tire from
Bridgestone, a GREAT tire at a GREAT price appropriate for intermediates up to expert
racers. Strong and predictable grip for going fast at
track days or racing, and advanced construction based upon
Bridgestone's MotoGP tire development program. Multiple
compounds (Soft, Medium, Hard) for varied track and weather
conditions. For the intermediate track day rider who wants
to go to the next level without worrying about their tires
losing grip, moving up to the race tire can provide a platform
to get there. NOTE: This tire is NOT for novice track day
riders who will not go fast enough to keep the tire hot while on
the track, the BT-003RS is a better choice for novices and will
offer better grip for those riders. |

Bridgestone Rain Tires

If you run the DOT race tire, or Slicks, and it
rains, you will have no fun on the track. That's where
rain tires come in! The Bridgestone rains offer incredible
grip in wet conditions for racers wanting to maintain an
advantage in adverse conditions, or track day riders who want to
continue going fast despite wet weather. If you've never
ridden on a rain tire, you won't believe how much grip can be
had in the rain! Not for use in dry conditions under any
circumstances, they will burn up in a very short time if ran in
the dry. |

Note: These are our recommendations, they are not set in stone and
not guaranteed to work for you. Use these recommendations at your
own responsibility, and if you have a local Bridgestone track
support person available always take their recommendations over
these generic guidelines.
(Baseline is 80 Degree Day – Adjust For Temp & Track Conditions)
NOTE: Cold pressures are provided for baseline starting point
only, always check temps off the warmers before first session and
then hot off the track and adjust during the day if necessary to
the correct hot off the track pressure. If not running warmers,
then set cold and check hot off the track and adjust to the
correct hot off the track pressure. Hot off the track temps should
be measured as quickly as possible after coming off the track.
