This is the HOT NEW dedicated track day tire from Pirelli, with outstanding grip and precise carcass design for great handling. Very similar to the prior Supercorsa DOT race tire, but specifically designed for track day use with a more durable rubber compound and price very affordably! |
The SC3 Supercorsa are RACE TIRES (NOT DOT legal, despite having tread) with a nod toward longevity and ease of use at the expense of outright grip at the absolute limit. If you are a fast racer at the pointy end of an Expert race grid, you'll probably find the limit of these tires and may not see a longevity benefit. If you are at slightly lower pace than that, you may find these tires give you all the grip you can use, and offer longer life. The compound is more resistant to cold tearing than SC1/SC2 compounds are, which is normally how track day riders get excess wear on their race tires. As always, there are lots of variables in riders, bikes, and track conditions, so nothing is guaranteed as far as tire life goes, you just have to find what works best for you.
SC3 tires DO NOT require tire warmers, but if you have them it's still always a good idea to use them.
